The Film: Na Tum Jaano Na Hum
Starring: Hrithik Roshan, Saif Ali Khan & Esha Deol
Director: Arjun Sablok
Producer: Pantaloon Pictures
Music: Rajesh Roshan
Lyrics: Anand Bakshi
Score: * *

After the disappointing AMALL, Hrithik fans are patiently waiting for the verdict of his next film. Called as a one hit wonder – this is his chance to prove that wrong. He would definitely prove that in this movie but it would be not be fair if he is judged on the basis of the box office collection of this movie.

PFH Entertainment Ltd.'s Na Tum Jaano Na Hum is a love triangle. While we had a more realistic movie like Mitr where two strangers became friends via e-mail here in this flick Hrithik and Esha become friends through a request show on FM radio.

Two of them start liking each other and send mails to them. In the world of e-mails, the two of them prefer to keep their identity intact by posting mails having P.O Box numbers! Both of them stay in different cities.

Esha is a rare combination of child woman – all the spontaneous mischief of a child and the wise maturity of a woman. She is positive that the only thing that matters between two people is the meeting of the mind and of the heart. And it does not matter if you don’t meet each other at all!

Rahul (Hrithik) is a sensitive dreamer, never had any girl friend and still searching for his right soul mate. He is caring has lot of respect for elders and women. He likes locking his most intense emotions and desires deep inside his heart.

Hrithik is very close to Saif who is his best buddy. Together they have grown up in Canada where they were even part of the same rock band. Akshay (Saif) has decided that there are two kinds of girls – the girl you love and the girl you marry. And never the two shall meet! Big time flirt, Saif has good time with chicks, but when the time for commitment arises, he slips fast away from the girls life.

A proposal comes for Saif from some known relatives in Delhi. Saif disagrees, but Hrithik helps him by checking this match for Saif before he meets her. Talk about adjustable scripts! As a matter of coincidence Esha calls Hrithik for a fashion shoot to Delhi.

Hrithik and Esha become very friendly at the shoot, meanwhile the correspondence between them continue not knowing that they are the same pen-pals!

When Esha learns that Hrithik has come to check on him, she gets upset and angry. Not knowing that she is his secret lover, Hrithik approves her for Saif.

The two lovers try to meet since Hrithik informs Esha that he is in the city and so they try to meet before Esha gets engaged. But when Hrithik comes to know the truth he avoids meeting Esha. And to add more fuel to fire, Saif requests Hrithik to call Esha posing as her secret lover which he does for his close pal.

After that Hrithik decides to leave India and settle in Canada. After 4 years Saif accidentally meets Hrithik along with his kid who too is called Rahul!

I have been warned by several readers no to reveal the end, so watch to know what happens next.

Critical analysis:

The movie starts of well, but the 1st half is stretched too much. Arjun could have used this time to have a better twist in the story instead it is stretched with too many songs while the 2nd half is more interesting but that is kinda rushed.

As a director Arjun Sablok has done a good job, all the songs sequences are shot extremely well. The soundtrack of the movie and music by Rajesh Roshan is commendable.

The script and story is weak, not well narrated and too common. There is nothing new in this story, very ghissa pitta walla.

Both Hrithik and Esha work as a great couple on this movie; they will be liked better than Hrithik-Amisha.

Hrithik excels in this movie as a sensitive character who is caring. He aptly uses his dancing skills and is good during the emotional scenes. His expressions are nice while there is one fighting sequence where too he excels.

This should have been Esha’s debut film – she has certainly improved in this film though she must work hard on dancing. They have tried so much to show her like the dream girl.

Fore Saif this is like an extension to DCH, but he is not so convincing as he could have been.

Some of the more seasoned actors are shown as show pieces. Moshumi Cahterjee, Rati Agnihotri, Smita Jayakar, Alok Nath and Anang Desai are wasted in this film. Instead you have Achla Sachdev in a sexy outfit getting a better deal.

There is plenty for the frontbenchers! Saif’s girl friend shown in bikini is hot stuff!! Preeti Jhangiani appears for like 5 seconds in this film!

But one fails to understand how come Esha does not recognise his voice as the secret caller had earlier called. Also, when the secret lovers meet, the scene some how is not convincing.

Another flaw was seen at the post office, where the toy was not even packed and kept in the post office locker. Now, can you post things like this without any envelope?

On the whole, Na Tum Jaano Na Hum is average and will only work in the name of Hrithik for few weeks.
