Love can be a scary thing, in a good and bad way. There are different types of love that a person can have for many different people. This is what Deewanapan is about. Directed by Ashu Trikha this movie promises the audience a glimpse of what the younger generation today is like. It is produced by Vashu Bhagnani Puja Films and stars Arjun Rampal, Diya Marza, Om Puri and Vinod Khanna.

This is an interesting star cast as it has never been assembled before. It is both Arjun’s and Diya's second film. Diya Mirza's debut film, Rehnaa Hai Tere Dil Mein didn't fare well at the box office even though her performance in the film was quite good. Vinod Khanna of yesteryears also make a comeback onto the big screen after a long time away from the industry.

Diya Marza is Kiran, the daughter of the rich Ranvir Chaudhary, a man who is respected by one and all in the village they live in. Kiran falls in love with one of the village men whose name is Suraj (Arjun Rampal). This is when the turmoil starts as the father, of course, refuses to accept Suraj as his ‘damat’ because of their difference in stature. Arjun realizes how difficult it can be to love someone when there is such a difference; still he continues to love her. Then something happens as the two most important men in Kiran’s life are now against each other with her stuck in between her love for her father and her love for Suraj. Another important person in this movie is Suraj’s father; a respected government official (Om Puri). He decides to take matters into his own hands as he tries to bring his son and Kiran together, as he believes in only love and the truth.

This is director Ashu Trikha’s first film and it is sure to have an impact. Vashu Bhagani Puja Films have already had a hit to their name in Muhe Kuch Kehna Hai and are hoping that this movie will bring them success again. The star of this movie is of course Arjun Rampal who has taken over the ‘hunk of today’ stature away from Hrithik Roshan after his performance in his first film Pyar Ishq aur Mohobbat. The critics are even raving about his performance in this films and how much he has improved as an actor in just his second film. Diya Marza also impresses as she plays her role very well Vinod Khanna also comes back with a bang as he plays the character of Kiran’s father very well. The movie is scheduled to release November 16th, and the theatres are sure to be packed.
